My 12 Summer Must Haves!

1. I am in love with this fresh new color! It is Essie's Boom Boom Room!
(Trick- Put on 3 very LIGHT coats!)

2. A cute new pair of shades. I got these adorable shades from Gabes for $3.99! What a steal!

3. While shopping with my sister Casey Jo, I found these chic new sandals from Target. Whites & brights are in this summer!

4.  I LOVE chap sticks! (Actually, all lip products in general.) I try all kinds of brands and I like so many of them.  My hands down, absolute favorite, holy grail chap stick will always be the classic black Chapstick brand chap stick.

5. Ladies, always, always, ALWAYS use SPF on your precious face!!! I have super oily skin, and unfortunately, my foundation doesn't have SPF in it.  I have tried BB creams, sunscreens and they either break me out, or I have to blot my face 3 times a day.  Not with this! It is Clinique's super city block.  It is a little pricey, but I don't need to blot my face through out the day and I'm not shiny. I bought this last year and still have so much left over!

6. I am all about hats!  I got this cute hat from Sam Moon. I think I paid $9 for it.

7. I have been into cross body bags lately.  I also got this one from Sam Moon. $22.99

8. In Style magazine.  I LOVE  this magazine! This is by far my favorite out there.  I get so much inspiration from it.

9. These bright colored necklaces are in this season!!! I think they are so cute! I love these because they are such an easy way to dress up your look.  I got this from Gabe's for $5.99! -That's right, a necklace & earring set for $5.99!

10. If you watched my May Hits & Misses video, you would have seen my all time favorite summertime lotion.  I love using Vaseline Aloe Fresh gel (lotion).  I always use moisturizer after shaving, but in the summer I get so sweaty.  I know it's gross, but I even sweat behind my knees.  I can't stand to put lotion on my legs, just to feel it melt off when I start sweating.  Gross! I don't have that with Aloe Fresh.  I LOVE it!!!

11. I am an anti-tanning bed kind of girl.  (I did my share of it when I was younger, but I am all about preventing skin cancer and preserving my face!) I try different self tanners.  I must say, this is my new fav! Jergens Natural Glow foam.  I felt like it blended evenly with my skin.
Note: If your self tanner is more than a year old, pitch it!!!! If may look good at first, but as the day wears on you start turning orange!!! I have learned this on 2 different occasions!!!

12. Every girl needs a cute bathing suit for the summer time.  Even if you don't make it to the beach and end up in the back yard kiddie pool with your beach chair and a cooler of your favorite drinks & an In Style magazine....don't judge! lol!

I hope you enjoyed my summer must haves....What are some of yours???

My Fab 5 of the Week

1. Spending Father's day with my Daddy!
This fine specimen of a man is my Dad.  (He should really learn not to take pictures like this...I will use them! lol!)

Of course that was not what my dad really looks like! This is my Daddy & I spending fathers day together earlier today.

2. My sister came up this past week and we got to spend the whole week together.

3. I purchased Sally Hansen's Sugar Coat Wednesday. This stuff is so cool! I only put two coats on and it instantly hardened. It's really cool, but I'm not sure if I like it.  I personally can't stand the feeling on my toes...it feels like sand paper.  But it is just so dang neat!

4. When I took my sister back home Friday, we noticed there was a Merchant & Artist walk going on in our home town.  My mom, sister & I decided to take a stroll.
My Momma & me

Casey Jo & Me

5.Casey Jo & I went to target earlier this week and I got these cute sandals!!! I just love them!!!

My Spring Must Haves!

My Spring must haves!!!

1. New Spring dress: Coral dress from Wet Seal

2. I am obsessed with envelope clutches! I found two while shopping last weekend.  Coral & blue       clutch: Burlington Coat Factory

3. I am all about new lip products! These are my 3 new favorite:

Nivea Raspberry Lip Butter...all I have to say is wow! I LOVE the way it feels on my lips!

L'Oreal colour caresse wet shine lip stain in 185 Lilac Ever After. I usually don't like lip glosses because I think they feel like wearing "glue stick," however, this feels amazing on my lips.

Maybelline color whisper in 20 Mocha Muse. This feels light and airy on my lips.

4. Vaseline Spray & GO.  My favorite is the Vaseline aloe lotion gel, but since I can't find it anymore, this is my second favorite.

5. Fresh nail polish: Essie in Play Date.  I have never had so many complements!

6. New Spring scent: Clinique Happy In Bloom. Such a nice springy fragrance!

What are your Spring Must Haves???

DIY Photo Necklace

Want to make a super cheap gift from the heart? How about a photo necklace!
It is so cute & very easy to make.

You only need 4 things to make it:
  *Picture
    *Crystal Drop
*3D Crystal Lacquer
*Chain

First pick out the picture you want to use.

Next get round glass crystal drop.
(I got it from Hobby Lobby...Crafts 2000 has them too)

Put the round glass over the part of the picture you like and trace.
(I like using an x acto but I couldn't find mine)

Cut the traced outline.

Next, get some 3D crystal Lacquer
(I got this from crafts 2000)

Dab some of the Lacquer to the flat side of the round glass.

Take your round photo cut out and place it face down on the lacquer.
This will get messy so have a wet paper towel handy!

Flip it over to make sure there isn't any air bubble you you'll need to smooth out.
And let dry!!!! I let mine dry for an hour.

Add your chain and voila`!
 A beautiful heartfelt gift!

DIY Pom Pom Fringe Scarf

This scarf is super easy to make!

First pick out your fabric and some pom pom fringe. (Make sure the fabric is really thin)

You'll need about 2 1/2  yards of fabric. Lay it all out flat and cut straight down the middle vertically.  (This will make 2 scarves)

Next, start pinning each of the long sides. (You want to fold it twice so when you sew the sides it doesn't ravel later on during use)

Then start sewing! Sew both of the long sides.  Then put it around your neck and figure out how long you want it.  If you want it shorter, just cut one of the short ends, fold twice and sew it too.

Once you are finished sewing each side of the scarf, start pinning the pom pom fringe to the long sides of the scarf.

Finally, sew the fringe to the scarf.

Voila! Your finished!

How To Make A Super Easy Infinity Scarf!

I wrote a blog post about how to make an infinity loop scarf on my last blog but I accidentally erased it.  It was probably for the best because I found a way to make it even better :)

First pick out your material.  I found this cute, thin, flowy material from Walmart super cheap! I used about 2 1/2 yards.

Lay the material out flat and cut vertically straight down.

Next I made a zig-zag stitch straight down each vertical side of the scarf. (I do this for 2 reasons. So the edges don't fray as easy and It will also help later on as a guide when you sew the sides together)

This is what each side should look like once you have finished.

Next, lay the scarf out flat.  Right side up.  (Right side up means the design side.  Wrong side means the back, faded side of the fabric) Then fold it long ways with right side together. Line up the material with both of the stitching sides and start pinning all the way down.

Start sewing the long sides together! (DON'T sew the two short ends together!)

Next, pull it through inside out!

Take both of the ends and place them together.  Next, fold the end, and fold once more again and pin across.

Once you sew that final side you are finished! The finished sewn end is the end you put around your neck and start wrapping :)

I love hats....Especially fedoras! I think they are a great way to accessorize a a plain outfit.  Here are just a few I have:

I think they are so classy....and they are great for days you really don't feel like washing your hair ;)
