My Fab 5 of the Week -12-30-12

What an amazing last week of 2012.
I liked 2012, It was a good year.
The hubs & I bought a house, I went back to school, and got to see my family more than I did in 2011.  I was extremely blessed this year!

This final week has been wonderful!

1. Christmas was amazing! I got to spend it with my whole family. And Lily had the most adorable dresses!

2. Girls Day! I had a wonderful girls day with my Grandmother, Mother, sister & cousin.  We all went to Gallipolis, OH to visit my cousin...then on to Point Pleasant, WV to the Mothman Museum. What a great day! We hit up some thrift shops along the way.  Got an awesome deal on two brand name vests and a pair of brand name jeans for $6!!!

3. Girl talk on Offenberger mountain. This past week I got to meet up with my Aunt and her friend Wi whom I haven't got to sit down and chat with in forever! It was so nice! It really is the little things in life that make you feel good.
Wi, Aunt J & me earlier this summer.

4. Making my "non-resolutions." I never complete my new years resolutions.  So this year I am making non-resolutions.  I am focusing on bettering myself and making myself a better person.

5. Bible in a year. I have read or "listened" to the whole bible while driving from TX to OH when I was moving. However, I don't think I paid too much attention to it.  I found this awesome website that emails you a certain amount of verses a day for a whole year.  It is called Bible In A Year. You just subscribe, choose how you want to read it, (chronologically, Genesis to Revelation, Alternating month to month, or New testament plus proverbs and psalms) and choose your bible version.  You can choose when you want to start it too!

Have a Happy & safe New Years everyone!

DIY Photo Necklace

Want to make a super cheap gift from the heart? How about a photo necklace!
It is so cute & very easy to make.

You only need 4 things to make it:
  *Picture
    *Crystal Drop
*3D Crystal Lacquer
*Chain

First pick out the picture you want to use.

Next get round glass crystal drop.
(I got it from Hobby Lobby...Crafts 2000 has them too)

Put the round glass over the part of the picture you like and trace.
(I like using an x acto but I couldn't find mine)

Cut the traced outline.

Next, get some 3D crystal Lacquer
(I got this from crafts 2000)

Dab some of the Lacquer to the flat side of the round glass.

Take your round photo cut out and place it face down on the lacquer.
This will get messy so have a wet paper towel handy!

Flip it over to make sure there isn't any air bubble you you'll need to smooth out.
And let dry!!!! I let mine dry for an hour.

Add your chain and voila`!
 A beautiful heartfelt gift!

5. Working hard to fail my drug test. During my Lab this week, my teacher is going to do a different kind of drug test on me to see if it picks up opiates. So I am eating the crap out of this poppy seed log...don't mind if I do ;)

Please give this CF Child his dying wish!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows I am all about Cystic Fibrosis awareness!
My beautiful sister Casey Jo was born with this horrible disease.
(You can read about her here)

I follow a lot of CF pages.  One of my facebook friends had forwarded a special request.

This is what it said:

There's a brave 9-year old boy named Dalton who has Cystic Fibrosis and has become increasingly sick and is not expected to live much longer. He was recently allowed to go home with medical supplies to be with his loved ones.
Dalton's last wish is to break the world record for receiving the most Christmas cards, which is 35,000. He currently has 15,108 cards!
Please send Dalton a Christmas card and be sure to include your city and state so he can see where the support is coming from. The earlier the cards, the better!
Thank you in advance!
Please send cards to the following:

Dalton Dingus
HC 62 Box 1249
Salyersville, KY
41465

And please share this with as many people as you can!

I did some research on it to make sure it wasn't a scam and it seems pretty legit.  I found a news article on this little boy and a youtube video:

Click here to read the news article about the Kentucky Troopers visiting him.

Here is a youtube video of him :)

Please give this dying boy his wish to break the record for receiving the most Christmas cards!!!!
All you are out is a card and a stamp and you make a dying boy feel special.

Will you send Dalton a card?
If so tell me! And where you are from!
I think it's exciting to see where all his Christmas cards are coming from :)

Wardrobe Wednesday Dec 5

I belong my school's HOSA club.
Today HOSA went Christmas caroling at a local nursing home.
We were suppose to wear something Christmasy. I don't have any Christmas themed clothes so I wore a plain red long sleeved shirt and a Christmas light necklace.

Long sleeved red shirt: Dots $7.50

Couples ring: Limoges Jewelry

Christmas Light Necklace: Crafts 2000

Wet n Wild Lash Serum

I saw this Wet n Wild lash serum at the drug store.  I picked it up, looked at it, read it and then set it back down. I thought: "Come on, it's freaking Wet n Wild, I seriously doubt a $6.99 tube of lash serum will actually work." Later that night I kept thinking about it.  I thought if it doesn't work I'm only out $6.99. So the next time I went to The drug store, I bought it.

It says you are suppose to use it in the morning and night.  But I'll be honest, sometimes I just forgot to do it twice a day. I took a picture on Day 1 and Day 30.

The top is Day 1 and the bottom is Day 30- without mascara.

It wasn't a drastic change, but there is definitely a change.  They seem fuller. Not too shabby for $6.99 tube of lash serum and not using it exactly like I should have been!

Have you ever tried this product?
What did you think?
